My first trip to see the tigers in wild was to Bandhavgarh in January 2011. In 8 safaris we sighted seven tigers. I came back with loads of images of Bamera and Mirchani Cubs. They were sighted both in morning and afternoon on two days.

I am now obsessed with wildlife photography and made a trip to Tadoba in April 2011 though the sightings were not as good compared to Bandhavgarh.

I will follow up this post with more of the Mirchani Cubs and Bamera.

Anand,
Nice to see a tiger as the first post. You got a good pose. The shutter speed is good. Wish the tiger was in light, so that a lower ISO would have been chosen.

How much of a crop is this?

How did you resize/process this image?

Opening up the shadows a bit and lowering the contrast will be better. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Patraji

This is 1/2 crop to the left to remove the dirt track. She came out, licked her nose and yawned. Entire sequence took 11 seconds and 46 frames. I was too excited to have a tigress all to myself .

Next forty three seconds we waited her to sit and back up the gypsy to face her.

In the next sixty seconds I shot her portraits (23) taking time to see her with my naked eyes :-)

Next time around I will be more prepared. Critiques from seasoned wildlife photographers like you would definitely help me.

Welcome to IndiaWilds..!!

The yawning pose is nice. The lighting was difficult. Wish the light was on her. Since it is 50%, there is loss of details. It is always a pleasure to sight and photograph a tiger. Do you shoot in RAW or JPEG? Thanks for sharing.

I was shooting in Jpeg. I shot both in JPEG and RAW at Tadoba and noticed that I lost a few shots while the camera was still recording the images.

RAW + Jpeg will take up more time to record and the buffer gets filled up. So you may have lost moments.

RAW is like the digital negative. So better to shoot in RAW. There are many softwares to convert RAW files. The DPP software that comes with Canon cameras are good. Adobe Lightroom has been accepted by most of the famous photographers around the world as the best interface to edit your images.

Nice to see an image of the Mirchaini cub. You got a nice pose. I find the image a tad too dark for my liking. A slight brightness boost might help?
