Beautiful bird. Seeing the low shutter speed, I think a narrower aperture would have just been fine. Also, a vertical composition may look nicer. By the way, ISO 300? Did you mean 320 or the D5100 actually has 300?

Nice sighting. Good eye contact. I agree with Bhargava, you could have used a wider (not narrower) aperture like 6.3 so you could have got a higher shutter speed. Placing the bird a bit more to the left would be good. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for your kind suggestion and dear Bhargava you are right , actually the shutter speed was 320.
I took 3 -4 shot of that little fellow and I agreed that a vertical composition would be better for this particular shot.

I agree. As human beings, we hardly use a fraction of our brains. How one controls and/or trains the mind is upto the individual.
