I could have tried a wider aperture here(?)

Good to see you got some rare species at LRK. This image justifies the name of the species well. I think you could have used a wider aperture here as the DoF needed doesn't seem large and also, the shutter speed was low.

Nice stare. Its good you got the head in clear. The image doesn't appear to be sharp, maybe there was some movement or the AF point was locked on something else. Is this a crop? Maybe increasing the ISO for a higher shutter speed or using a wider aperture as you said would have been good. Look forward to more from LRK. Thanks for sharing.

I love the eyes of the owl. Wish you had a higher shutter speed. Did you shoot from the vehicle? If you were a bit to the left, then it would have been good. A higher ISO would have been better as that would have given you higher shutter speed. Of course, when you are cropping a lot, better to use lower ISOs. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Thank you everyone. Sabyasachi sir yes it was shot from a jeep. LRK is one of the places where one can get down for photography. However the owls were extremely uncomfortable with us approaching them on foot. Hence we decided to keep a comfortable distance from them and at the same time positioning ourselves optimally for the photographs.
