Nice documentation. What is the cause of action of Dhole? Was there any calf with Gaurs?Did you see any packs of Dhole?Or Dhole simply trying to ward off the Gaurs from the area. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Thanks Saktipada, this is a pair of dhole that got separated from the pack, I have been seeing them for over two years now. A month ago the female dhole has littered. The gaur herd had a sub adult calf, and these dholes made an attempt to chase, but not successfully.

Nice behavior documented. Its good that you got the Gaur looking towards you and the eyes are in the clear. Was it a sudden charge? Thanks for sharing.

It is doubtful that a pair of dholes can handle a gaur mom and calf. However, dholes are known to harass larger prey like gaurs. Good that you saw this interaction. Thanks for sharing.

Nice documentation. Good to know that the dholes we have been seeing for a couple of years have some company now :) I only hope the two dholes will be able to raise the pups to adulthood.
