Hi,

Shot this in Pune. Was sitting in the bushes when I found this one perch nearby. Captured this moment when it was cleaning its feathers.

Before I could approach any closer after taking some shots, it flew away.

Please critique.

I liked the way the feather is still in its beak. The perch and the eye contact is nice. Good colours. Wish it was closer. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that the feather in the beak makes it a bit different than the normal kingfisher looking at left or right.

Nice image. This enjoyable bird in its natural colour. This bird,in my view, is 'Alcedo atthis' called by various names:'Small Blue'/'Eusasian'/'Common' Kingfisher. It is better to give scientific names also. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
