Gavi is a special place in the Kerala Western Ghats,transfixed between the Sabarimal shrine and Thekkady.Here I could get only this much of a LTM amongst a group of 5-6.......

Rare image as this primate has most restricted distribution, confined to a few pockets of evergreen forests in the Western Ghats.Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Nice environment photograph. Good that you got the face in clear. So it was a small group. Wish the light was better. Was it raining? Thanks for sharing the information of a new place. Look forward to more.

Good to see some Lion-tailed Macaques.

Too much of tourism to Sabrimala is changing the character of the place. I am told that when people practice the prescribed food habits before visiting Sabrimala (is that 40 days or so?), human excreta decomposes better without the associated nutrients which are alien to the place.

It becomes very difficult to restrict the impact of religious tourism. Yet to come across a study about the environmental impact of the Sabrimala pilgrims and tourists.
