The very harsh mid-day sun was not helping. The nonchalance of the Bird was tempting.

A Bronze Winged Jacana, Santragachi Lake, Howrah West Bengal, 27 Nov 2011.

Pentax K5, Pentax DA* 300mm F4 ED IF SDM, Pentax F 1.7AF adapter, 1/400 sec f9, ISO 320, -0.7 EV spot metered. Crpped for composition just a bit.

processed for levels and highlight correction and a small amount of sharpening.

Lovely colours. The eye contact is nice. Agree about the harsh light. Removing the hint of legs at the bottom would be good. Thanks for sharing.

Nice one. Good to know that this fellow approached close. Since this was close, a vertical portrait of the head would have been good too. The glint in the eye looks good.

This reminded me of one such closeups I had in 2004 when I had first shifted to digital. Unfortunately, the swampy area behind my house in bhubaneswar has lost its sheen due to dumping of debris from the residential building constructions.
