I saw this parakeet in Bharatpur bird santuary today, cropped for closeup.

Noticed the beak is extra large, i initially thought he is eating somthing but later on realised that its natural beak. First time saw this. request ton please put some light. Wondering how he eats.

Canon 7D, 100-400 @ 400, F7.1, 1/640, iso 200, spot metering, AV mode.

Nice observation. Surely the beak looks quite odd, maybe it is a deformity. It might quite difficult for it to eat, could you see it eating? Thanks for sharing.

Nice record. The beak seems deformed. Ive seen this in a crow and a rufous treepie.

I have seen deformed beaks, however, this one seems to be much longer. Where in Bharatpur did you see this? Was it single or in a pair?

Cheers,

Seen this near the Spot where there is a canteen in bharatpur ghana jungle, Was having a cup of tea and spotted this, He was single not in pair. Spoken to the local guides there its frequently seen there. Not seen him eating, he was not very active too.
