It does look like a Crested serpent eagle. Nice eye contact despite the relatively steep angle. Lesser spcae to the right may have been netter. Saturation could perhaps, be reduced slightly.

I agree that the right side with empty sky doesn't add to the image. Which AF (Auto focus) point were you using? You can see that using Zoombrowser or Digital Photo Professional (DPP) softwares that come in the CD along while purchasing the camera. Thanks for sharing.
