Good sighting. The head turn and eye contact is nice. Using a higher ISO would have helped to get more shutter speed and more details. Its good you got it mostly in open. Wish the out of focus leaves on the left were not present, but might be difficult to avoid that :(. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image of Common Hawk Cuckoo.Difficult to photograph as it always perches on the tall tree.In the winter night, I used to hear its repititive loud and shrill call 'pee pee ah' or 'brain fever, brain fever' when I was staying in Bagnan(Howrah).Winter will go, spring will arrive,we will hear the musical call of Asian Koel- 'kuoo kuoo' in the morning. If you are lucky to be in Jena Bill in Simlipal T.R (and some others) ,you will listen to early morning musical call of Indian Cuckoo-'Bau katha kao,bau katha kao'.
Which country on Earth can mesmerise us with so much music!

I fully agree with this thought. Didn't want to go out of this country for better career opportunities.
We have amazing bio-diversity. You can love beauty of the flowers/orchids, the colourful birds or hear their rich melody, watch mammals big and small, small insects, amphibians....the list is endless. With so many species of birds, it is a listeners delight. When I first started sound recording a couple of years back, just placing the earphone around my ears and listening to the sounds through the microphone was amazing. Unfortunately, there is too much of human induced noise in most of the places. Loudspeakers blaring some popular songs even in remote villages in the western ghats makes me feel sad. I guess we have failed in teaching people that there is far more melody in the nature than the ones our TV and radio channels can provide.
