shooting parameters: 7D, lens 100-400, f/5.6, 1/750, iso 125, fl 320mm, exposure manual. this bird is found in streams, rummaging the algae clung to rocks. i have never seen this bird in pairs. ID not known.

This seems to me a spotted forktail. Nice environment. Why only 320mm? You could have used the full 400mm to good effect. Also, a narrower aperture was possible.

Nice habitat shot, and I believe that is why you shot it at only 320mm...? Would have liked to see an image shot at 400mm also. It looks like a Slaty-backed Forktail (Enicurus schistaceus) to me... not sure as I don't have my bird book with me at the moment, please confirm.

Nice environment photograph. Good to see this species. The light looks a bit harsh. The eye contact is nice. Is this full frame?Thanks for sharing.

Nice image. I too feel that the light is a bit harsh. Like the feathers standing out in the tail.

thank you all. it was midday and light, yes, was harsh. i failed to pull to full length as i was hiding in my car. thanks again for the ID & tips.

Your image is 640x380 pixels. You can post a larger image so that it will be easier for critiquing. You can post images with a maximum of 1024 pixels on the longest side.

At times the wider composition is good to show the habitat. We will be able to appreciate that if you can post a larger image.
