Was lucky to spot this bird. Later I realised there were 2 of them. Light was bad and the vegetation was thick.But managed to get a few shots of this lovely bird. Again this was clicked at Karnala. There were too many branches hence cropped a fair bit.

Nikon D3100, F5.6,1/640, ISO 3200, (70-300)300mm

Nice that you spotted them thorugh the thick vegetation. The bird looks beautiful, and seems to be a black hooded oriole like you say. A lower ISO would have been just fine, say ISO 1600 also woulkd have given you a very decent shutter speed here.

I feel so too Bhargava that a lower ISO might have helped. But it sometimes gets really difficult especially when there is a frisky bird and bad light to cater to.

Cute bird. Its good that you could get the eye in the clear. Agree a lower ISO would have sufficed in this case. Thanks for sharing.

Tough to get this one with a smaller focal length. I agree that a lower ISO would suffice.
