Well this is my first attempt for an Silhouette image and please guide me in case if you feel something needs to be improvised.

I like the composition. I may have liked this more if you had given it further more negative EC so that the earthly colors of the anthill were not fully visible.

Nice attempt. In backlit situations like these, I always prefer silhouettes rather than over-exposing for details. A little more to the left, and you'd have avoided the sunlit parts of the mound that Bhargava pointed out. Would have been better if the tree-line didn't intersect the bird, maybe you could have done that if you shot from a lower position.
PS: This might look good in B&W too.

I agree with Abhishek. Even though the bird is in silhouette, the anthill is not as it is in sidelighting condition. You needed to move to the left to get the subject between you and the Sun.
