Saw this big guy in Bhitarkanika. One gets to see them often in Goa, however I never managed a decent shot of the species. Bhitarkanika was more gracious in that aspect. :-)

Lovely eye contact. I would prefer a little more brightness. Without the second branch it would have been better, but not sure how you could have avoided that. Is this a young individual?

Hi Abhishek,
Unfortunately I'm a victim of a laptop which doesn't allow much screen tweaking and images seem brighter and lacking contract. Often I have to process keeping in mind how it would look on a standard screen, which is where I have gone wrong. Have invested in a new laptop now, so hopefully the issues should be sorted.

An adult would ideally have slightly darker plumage on the back. This is a young adult in my opinion.

Finally you have got this. I agree with Abhishek that without the branch in the middle it would have looked great. The eye contact is nice. Which laptop did you finally get?

It was perched for around 3-4 minutes after it saw us approaching on the boat. When the boat drew very close, it flew away.
