Managed to sight a lot of Drongos in karnala a couple of weeks back. Was traveling hence couldnt post earlier. Light was a bit bad and so was the distance, have managed to create this image with the available resources. Cropped Image.

Nikon D3100, focal length 300mm, F 5.6, SS 1/640.

Agree that the lighting is always tricky in Karnala. Had been there last week and found quite a lot of racket-tailed drongos. Also found loads of birds plus a pair of fighting mongooses(!) on the Mortaka trail.

P.S.:This beautiful bird having plumage highly glossed with bronze-green and blue ,in my view, is Bronzed Drongo(Dicrurus aeneus). The setting looks like a painting. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

It is a difficult pose to photograph as the head is away from you. There is some noise, what was the ISO? An off-centered composition would have been good. Wish it was closer. Thanks for sharing.

Mrudul, I am not able to get the ISO details from the file.I had set the ISO to select automatically between 400 to 3200. I did sharpen the image a bit. Maybe the noise is also because of that.

When you sharpen, the noise also gets sharpened. When the subject is small in the frame, you need to really use all your technique and any support available to get a steady shot, so that the sharpness is good. I am sure you will get it again in better light. Thanks for sharing.
