Crested Goshawk

Accipiter trivirgatus.

Found this secretive raptor basking in the morning sun on a high perch in Mudumalai. Its larger size and the fluffy hair on the vent are good id features against most other Accipters. This is an adult female.

500D, 55-250, 250mm, AE, f5.6, ISO 400, SS 1/500 , +2EC ( effectively screwed up a clear nice blue sky in the BG and had to add a border to seprate the image from the screen) Cropped image.
