Calling Mother.

Indian Baby Grey Mongoose. Herpestes edwardsii- This mongoose were shot at khadir region (Gujarat) near To Khadir Island,

when I am going for flamingos shoot, it was a Christmas day 2011. I notice that one baby calling his mother in open atmosphere at morning. running here and there. and so alone.. And In sky Few Pelicans are Roaming..
I don't know whether his mother left alone or go for hunting. but wish his mother comes back. :(

Nice capture of the calling behaviour. I don't think the mother would leave it in the open... Would be interesting to know what happened afterwards. You could have used a higher Av considering you had sufficient shutter speed.

There is a Nest of this baby's in between of Electric wire Column. There are Two baby's. One is resting on its nest and And other one Roaming in open calling as shown in image. I will Share Two baby's image lately..
But I waited much time in my vehicle to see the Baby mongoose what is going Around. but Nothing more Interesting I found. so I left him alone.

Nice behavior captured. The calling pose shows the intensity is which it is looking for its mother. Its quite rare to get mongoose babies out in the open. As you said you didn't see the mother coming for sometime. I hope she would be fine and would return to the babies soon. Thanks for sharing this interesting behavior.
