Nice looking bird. Well exposed. At lower shutter speeds, to get sharp images, this lens requires support in the form of a monopod or a tripod. Do you use one?

Also, where is the focus point?

I agree with Praveen. Since you are saying that this is a small crop, the sharpness should have been higher. It might be helpful if you try and find out the shutter speed you are comfortable at handholding and then try and use higher shutter speeds.
