mighty Siang river passing through narrow rocky chasm in upper siang disrtict, Arunachal which rechristens as Brahmaputra in Assam. it is the fifth fastest flowing river in the world but it may no longer retain the glory of being a fast river for greedy power developers have already set their eyes on it.

Lovely landscape. The mountains in the background give a nice feel to the image. So is this place quite close to the staring point of the Siang river? I hope this landscape is preserved. Thanks for sharing the information.

The river looks so narrow here. Looking at the steep cliffs, the river might have struggled to find its way through.

It is unfortunate that China is planning massive dams on the Bramhaputra and not to be left behind, India is also planning a series of dams here to claim the waters.

In Hindu mythology, Bramhaputra is the only "male" river. The river which was considered to be "mighty" is now being tamed.
