Over the weekend was in Airoli creek in Navi Mumbai and found a couple of these herons. It was a nice bright morning and the birds were busy looking for food. Suddenly this adult flew close by and I managed to get a couple of shots.

Lovely flight pose captured. I liked the eye contact and the upward wing stroke. The light is nice. An off centered composition with slight less space on the left and more on the right would be good. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with the previous comments. You need to start tracking before the bird is close and click the moment the bird enters the area where the eye contact and wingspread is good. In this case, it has just passed you. A couple of seconds before would have been great. More space in the direction the bird is flying creates a pleasing composition.

Cheers,
