Kingfisher with Hunt... record shot!!!

Unfortunately, the kingfisher hunted the lizard and decided to perch on a different tree which was quite far from where I was and from where it took off for its hunt. My lens could not reach that far well hence the poor quality of the image. Its just a record shot. What was interesting is that after picking up the lizard the kingfisher started bashing the lizard with its beak on the tree trunk to kill it. It bashed up the lizard atleast 5-6 times after which it gobbled up the lizard.

Interesting behavior captured. Good that you could witness it catch the lizard and see it beat and gobble it. I was not aware that it eats lizards, I was thinking it mostly feeds on fish and small insects. Thanks for sharing this.

Wish the branch was not between the bird and you. The overall feel of the place looks good.
