Nice flight shot. The grey and blacks are well exposed. Some more details in the eye would be good. Is this a crop? Thanks for sharing.

Yes Mrudul, this is a crop. Am thinking of investing in a teleconverter...while the 70-300 is an incredible lens, need more zoom for these kind of shots

Nice downstroke of the wings. The heron is angled into the frame. It would have looked great if it were flying parallel to the frame.
I am not sure if a TC will fit into this lens. You may need to check before buying. The quality degrades when a Teleconverter is used. So the quality of the lens to start with has to be great.

Can you suggest the best lens in the Nikon range for wildlife that can give excellent hand held flexibility as well (apart from the 70-300mm VR)?
