This is from the same series in Bandipur where we sighted tigress Gowri with her four cubs last month. This is the male cub, and I was told there was some injury to his tail, but now he seems to be fine. They were walking infront of our jeep, and this one instance he stopped and looked back.

Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 400, f6.3, 1/250, hand held

Comments and critiques welcome..

Nice head turn and eye contact. The sub-adult male looks weak.I am afraid,God forbid, the injury at the base of the tail may leave a permanent mark. Thanks for sharing.saktiWild

The angle is nice. Good eye contact. Hope these fellows grow up and get their own territories. There are many casualties before they reach adulthood.

Cheers,

The view is very good. Space to the right adds drama. When a walking tiger (or a human) turns back at something unexpected the expressions will be amazing.

Nice compo and eye contact. Like the pose. Agree that it looks weak. Infact it seemed quite healthy and much bigger than the female cubs in other pics I had seen. Hope the injury is not serious.

Thanks Suketh and Saktiji to give us the update. We hope the cub does well and we would be able to photograph it for many more years to come :).
