Nice take off pose. The water splash looks nice. You could have increased the ISO to 400 to get a higher shutter speed for more details. It is always good to have a high shutter of 1/2000- 1/1500 while photographing birds in flight. Is there a tilt? You can correct it in post processing. Thanks for sharing.

Nice looking bird and good pose, You could have increased the ISO to 400 comfortably on the 7D, to get a shutter speed of 1/2000sec, and hence a shaper image with action frozen better. Agree that there seems to be a tilt; it needs a CW correction.

Apart from increasing the ISO to 400 for higher shutter speed, you also need to quickly lock focus on the bird.

Good that the bird was parallel to you. Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

To correct the horizon tilt you can check the following tutorial. Indiawilds: Land of the Tiger. Conservation, Wildlife Photography, Communities (http://indiawilds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1510)
