This was shot in Chorla Ghat in Goa. It is a very colourful skittish bird.

Nice sighting. The eye contact and the colours look good. Some light on the eye would have been great. Thanks for sharing.

A very shy bird, like all thrushes. Good job capturing it. I had got a record shot of this bird with the 100mm once :p.

Good capture Bibhav, the nearby oof foliage adds to the composition. Looks like the bird was in dense conditions. Although I am completely against using flash in any scenario for bird photography could a low intensity flash have helped (just a thought)?

Thanks everyone for the observations.

Supreet,
I guess I could have. The thought didn't cross my mind at the time. I was waiting for it to maybe move a little bit to the right where the spot light was. (you can see in the image)
I had been trying for long to get close to this bird that day. I stayed still when I would be in its field of vision and when it would look the other way, close in. This was the closest I could get to it.

Tough scene as the light is against and entering the frame from the bottom right side. Did you try a vertical?

Hi Sabyasachi,
I fired off around 3-4 frames in horizontal mode. No frames in vertical unfortunately.
