Dashed off in the morning today to Nandi Hills to try out my new Canon EF 17-40 f/4L USM lens.

This was shot around 7:30 AM

Canon EOS 7D, Canon EF 17-40 f/4L USM + Cokin ND8 Graduated Neutral Density Filter
SS 1/100
f/10
ISO 100

Comments and Critiques welcome.

I guess I should have used the ND4 filter here as now that I post it, the effect feels a bit overkill!

I agree that it is a bit too much. The top portion has become completely dark. What focal length did you use? Did you crop?

I can see some vignetting in the top left and right corners. Good that you got the Graduated Neutral Density filters. Happy that from HDR you moved to GND filter.

Hi Sabyasachi,
This was shot at 17mm and is full frame.
I am trying out the different ND filters in different situations. Need to get acquainted better with their use.

Nice landscape. The clouds on the left add to the composition. Seems even at 7.30 am the light has got a bit harsh :(. Agree the sky looks a bit over saturated. Thanks for sharing.

You are right Mrudul. nfortunately, they don't allow vehicles inside before 6:30. We had to wait outside the gates for quite some time.
