Otters on the kabini lake. They were enjoying an evening sun bath. I'm not sure if they are eurasian or smooth coated. Pls clarify.

Nice to see the image. These are,as I see it,the Common Otters (Lutra lutra).I am so happy that you have focussed your attention on such a beautiful subject of observation. They are always playful, mood nicely captured.
The Otters feed on fishes and tortoises and hunt in groups and possibly kill more than what they consume. But in the process they help other marine life who are not such clever and organised predators,to thrive.Beauty of Nature.Try to absorb it.Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Lovely sighting. Quite rare to sight so many otters. A higher ISO like 200 or 400 and a narrower aperture would have helped to get more details. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Beautifully explained by Saktipadaji. The otters always seem a happy lot. Humans have a lot to learn from them, a scratch is enough for humans to be unhappy. Agree with Mrudul's comments. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see a bunch of them together. I have never been able to photograph the Otters despite my regular visits to Kabini. Wish to get them during my trip there next month!

You could have easily upped the ISO for a higher shutter speed and/or a higher f value and therefore a sharper image.

Cheers

Very nice sighting. Since you were clicking at ISO 100, increasing that to ISO 200 would have given you a shutter speed of 1/400 and increasing ISO to 400 would have given you a shutter speed of 1/800. That would have been sufficient to freeze the motion.
