I think the forest department has knowingly burnt the vegetation. They do it every year in most of the forests.

If conservation means creating shock, then there are many NGOs who have done enough highlighting poaching, showing images of elephants with their tusks cut off etc. What has been achieved by that?

A group of guys along with Greenpeace, got some dead Olive ridley turtles to delhi to protest. What was achieved? There were some FIRs registered against them.

The image of a rebel without a pause (and at time without a cause) appeals to youngsters in college etc. We have all passed through that phase and have understood the fallacy. One needs more maturity. One needs assertiveness in communication rather than being aggressive.

Every day we see images or hear of news of murder, bomb blast etc. We have become numb and cynical to that kind of stimulus.

The present generation is growing up in concrete jungles in the towns. They hardly have the benefit of watching wildlife around their houses. How will they have the love and affection towards our natural world unless they see it. The reason for critiquing images of members is to help them create better images so that someone somewhere is inspired to protect our fast vanishing wildlife.

The title is apt. Our forests are reeling under the impact of invasives. There is not much food for them. The health of our elephants are deteriorating.
