This was one of the first shots i took with my Canon SX 10 , had forgotten to post it...

Hi Abhishek,

I would suggest a crop so the bulbul is not centred in the frame. Still further I feel it needs a bit of brightness / opening up of the blacks.

Apana,
Increasing brightness, i observed, makes the throat look overexposed. So i increased contrast instead. Also cropped it. Tell me if it's better. Can't help a slight decrease in sharpness, tried everything in photoshop. Thanks for the tips.

Previous pic was bit good than new (cropped).
Noise and blur is more visible around barks.

Do you have the RAW file? And what is the original file size? You could try using the Shadow-Highlight tool to just open the shadows.

Hi Apana,

He has taken photo with Canon SX10 IS, which doesn't support RAW.
Though he may share original JPEG file.

Is shadow highlight a feature in photoshop? Where is it located? I just started using it, so I dont know much...

Hi Abhishek,

It is available on the later versions, from CS3 if I am not mistaken. It is available through Image > Adjustments > Shadow Highlight. I don't have PS on this system but I generally hit Alt + I + A + W.

Apana it's not there... I'm using v. 7.0
