Had to get down on the road to get this one. Was lucky to get him in good light.

Canon 1D MkIII , Canon 600mm , 1.4 X TC.

1/640 , f 6.3 , ISO 1600 , Spot metering , 840mm.

Nice image here. I have never been able to photograph this bird. The noise in the BG could be toned down.

This is nice vertical frame. Fantastic shot. though noise is clearly visible its not distracting.
you can try increasing contrast little bit....

Nice image. Although i agree about the BG noise... U said u got it in good light so why ISO 1600? A slight increase in contrast would help...

Thanx for the comments guys.
@Bibhav: Pittas normally forage the on the ground and they prefer the undergrowths and dark patches . I was plain lucky that he moved on to the lighted area . Since the MKIII has good ability in controlling noise ( also I could use NR later) , I shot it at ISO 1600 .

Difficult to get a clean shot of these guys. You've managed well. But you could play with levels on PP a bit. The whites have lost detail.
