The forests at Bandipur were parched and the early summer sun in March was drying up all the greens . . . . The completely dried up tree presented a neat camaflogue for a CSE.

This was a view through a 55 mm lens and shall soon post the close up of the same bird through a 100 - 400.

A nice tip for one to check out dried up trees and dead stumps carefully for forest raptors. More often than not this how one wud sight a CSE.

I agree that they often perch on the top most branch. Trying to visualise an even wider composition. Thanks for sharing.
