Nice display of habitat. Wish it was slightly turned towards you to enhance the composition further. Agree a bigger image would help in commenting better. Thanks for sharing.

Need a little help here...as per the site guideline, can post only within 300Kb...and when I compress the image down to that size, this is the max size I get....in a larger size the pic really comes out...can you advise me what to do on CS so that I get a larger aspect while still keeping it under 300 kb..?

While converting you need to specify quality and size. Probably you are giving 100% quality. You need to reduce that.

No, it was just standing motionless for quite some time...we moved off after a while...any idea why it would do so?

Elephants can stay really silent when they are sensing the presence. If they want to charge, then they will be standing silent with one foreleg slightly raised. That is a sure shot sign of an imminent charge. Also while eating, it can be silent at times with just some sound of uprooting grass. The sound of rumbling belly also can at times be the only sound.

Elephants in Musth also stand silently for a long time at places.

Fascinating, thanks for that insight. We heard the rumbling. May be this was in Musht or feeding on grass. Next time will wait with patience to answer some of these questions and know more!
