Experiments with the 5D MII on high ISO continue . . . . . A wood pecker at the garden under extreme low light.

5D MII, 150 - 500, F6.3, 1/125, ISO 3200, hand held.

No Rajeev, a very slight crop (say 5 - 10%) to remove a OOF on the top left . . .

Nice to see a woodpecker in action. Was it possible to move a bit more to the left, that would have helped to get a more side profile. It works nicely at such high ISO, just slight noise visible in the background. Thanks for sharing.

Rajan,
Nice to see you putting more time in clicking birds. Did you do any noise reduction.

The High ISO of the modern cameras are good. However, to get the maximum benefit of the high resolutions, one has to use tripod/very good technique, higher shutter speed. Else, the benefit of the resolutions get lost. It becomes apparent when printing big. You did well for the 1/125 shutter speed. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Good shot of this elusive and shy one! Unusual angle though, where were you sitting...on a branch above it or taken from a window / road above? The post process sharpening is a tad too high
