These flies have a habit of taking off the moment you fire the flash. Seems this is what happened and you ended up with a flight shot :). This image nicely depicts the two 'halteres'- the small white club-shaped organs behind the wings, which are used for in-flight balance and manoeuvres.

Exactly.. Abhishekh.. When I click. This Fly Flew Away...Due to this Habit, I get Much Difficulties to capture this fly.. Even Some Shot comes Blank.. :laugh: I got Few Shots out of 20 to 30 click...
