This bird was sitting on a tree suddenly flew and impaled its beak on a leaf on the ground the it shook off the leaf and i saw a lizard impaled through the leaf:ohmy: 550 d @ 250mm 100-400 1/500 f 5.6 iso 2000

Super Images..i have seen till now only KF catching fish.. first time i have seen catching lizard....

The white-breasted KF is known to hunt away from water, mainly on lizards like this one. This is the first time I have seen one impaled though. Even more interesting is the fact that it was impaled right through a leaf. This is a very valuable record. Nicely captured.

Nice documentation. Its good you got both the images with the leaf and the lizard. Quite rare to get this. It shows how accurate its sight is that it could judge there was a lizard under the leaf. Lovely capture. Thanks for sharing.

White-throated Kingfishers are least dependent on water for preying. They prey on Lizrads, babybirds, babysnakes scorpions and a varied number of prey.

Nice one. The Kingfisher knew where the prey is below the leaf and attacked. Good that you recorded it. I will later copy these shots to the natural history section.
