Hello Everyone...

planing to Buy Extension Tude for Macro lens canon 100mm.

Canon EF 12 II and EF 25 II

No issue of Budget

Any suggestion??
If any one Using Tudes can give their Reviews..

If budget is not an issue why don't go for a macro lens instead. Canon 100mm 2.8 L has been in my list for a long time and will be in my wish list until one day I get that one.

I have tried reversing and with my 18-135 lens reversed I get more than 5X magnifications but the biggest of all disadvantage is that I loose too much light in the process and the DOF is very shallow.

I have friends who had used Extension Tubes, Raynox comverter glass which converts virtually any lens to a macro lens but all these alternatives have a big disadvantage in DOF.

There aren't many ET which supports AF, and the one with AF is expensive. For macro of a virtually stationary object you would not need AF but for fly in flight you need real fast AF.

The Kenko extension tube set is better that Canon tubes. The reason: for the same price as a single Canon tube, Kenko offers a set of three- 12, 20 and 36mm. These tubes support AF , and are EF-S compatible (many other extension tubes are not). And image quality won't be an issue since the function of extension tubes does not involve optics. Not sure about the current price but I guess it should be around 6000.

Hello Krishandas.. I already have Canon 100mm non L lens, So no planning for another Macro L lens.. Reserved Tenique is good not best, as you mentioned Disadvantage of Light.. and not get much result compare to Macro lens.
I think Extension Tude will be good for me.. :) Thanks For Suggested

Abhishek Kenko Is good Option.. it is in my mind.. but don't know the result and quality of this company.
you mean Three Tudes, 12, 20, 36 @ 6000/-?? If it is true than I have to think of it..

I agree with Abhishek. Extension tubes don't have optics in them. So it won't impact the quality. The question is whether you get good AF.

I have a more than a decade old extension tube uniplus and recently I attached it with a Canon EF 100mm f2.8 L IS USM lens and the AF worked fine. Kenko will be fine if you are not going with Canon extension tubes.

Buy a set of extension tubes based of a brand which you can afford. Since this will last a lifetime, paying a bit extra to get the peace of mind is a better option.

I am Finding Kenko dealer, Because In Gujarat There is no dealer of kenko Tudes.:confused:
