Black Kite
I photographed this near Bangalore at the same place as the Egyptian Vultures. The light was quite bad and it was about to rain. Saw lot of these kites perched on the fencing.
Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 200, f5.6, 1/800, full frame
Comments and critiques welcome..

this is absolutely beautiful. Lovely details... the background is also diffused decently... The cloud pattern makes the head stand out. TFS

this is beautiful image, very well exposed. you have done gr8 job in exposing bird as well as bg correctly.lovely details..

Great shot, nice and sharp with a nice clear BG. The kite stands out well. There is a pinkish spot in the BG near the bottom, cloning that may improve the image further.
Perhaps a bit more space at the bottom would have enhanced it? (I don't mean to say there is anything wrong with this frame, I'm saying this frankly because my eyes immediately went down to see whether the full tail is included.)
-
Thanks all for the comments.
Abhishek, I too tried my best to include the tail fully. Maybe a bit zoom-out would have helped for some more space at the bottom.

Uff..not again...first the Vulture and now this..too good.
Mrudul, I'm speeding up my Bangalore plans ;-)
Great job.

Nice image. Background nicely diffused. This has come out well. It is good that the tail is not cut.
Cheers,

Do you have a vertical?
I would love to see it... also did u use Ev compensation?
-
No I had not set any Ev compensation. I think I have a vertical let me check.
-
The EXIF data says +1/3 EV. Else, in this situation, with so much of sky the meter is bound to give an underexposed reading.
-
wow! this is fantastic...
