Sambar and the sore spot
This was pictured at Kabini last week. The Sambar peeped out from the bushes and the bleeding sore spot was too conspicuous not to be filmed. However it was drizziling and the light was extremely bad. I had to ask the driver to switch off, wait for a while before getting a semblance of a shot.
A small crop at the bottom (to eliminate a horizontal branch) maybe 5%

Nice close-up. Fine details. The sore patch has commenced at the base of the throat, as usual. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Good details and sharpness. The sore spot is clearly visible. The vertical composition looks good. Nicely captured even with the low light. Thanks for sharing.

The sore patch is nicely documented. People who are not aware about the sore patch will think that it is a wound. For the benefit of our readers, I am sharing the link to the detailed discussion about sore patch in natural history section: http://www.indiawilds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1115
