Indian stripe Hyena

Cameratrapping Indian stripe Hyena can be very challenging at a time. Setting up and maintaining camera traps in these terrains can be physically demanding. Striped hyenas live in arid, rocky, scrubby areas—not always easy to access.
Despite these challenges, the rewards of successfully camera trapping a striped hyena are immense. Their distinctive stripe patterns allow for individual identification, providing valuable insights into population dynamics, movement patterns, and habitat use.
Canon 7D , 02XSB-28 flash set at 1/8 , camera & lens both are set at manual , ISO-1600 , f/8 , 1/80.

That is so cool Vipin! Given the low lights that they generally move around getting a shot is always challenging. The side profile has come out nicely.

Vandalisation and stealing of camera traps is always a challenge. How do you deal with it?

This camera was placed near a den with pups, which greatly helped in collecting data on them.
However, setting up and maintaining a camera trap in this terrain can be physically demanding, so human movement is minimal or nearly nonexistent.
The villagers were well informed about the purpose of the project and were happy to cooperate.

The camera was deployed for a week, and I managed to capture some great images of the animals.
