I had shot this series last year with a Nikon coopix towards the end of an evening safari in the month of April .Though the images may lack clarity I am posting them purely as a matter of interest.It all starts with a wonderful cooling off dip in the forest lake.
Then a walk into the sunset drying off gradually
Hope nobody is watching!
And now towards the killing fields
My very own dining table with its delicious assortment of dishes
Its a wait and watch game requiring lot of patience and stealth.
This was around the end of our safari timing and we had to leave our beautiful protagonist.
Crouched in the middle of the meadow in tireless vigil waiting for the right moment to launch her attack.Regretfully we left hoping that this particular tigress had a successful hunt that day.
Nice sequence of images, showing the daily life of this tigress. You got to witness and photograph quite interesting behavior. Thanks for sharing.
Some very nice moments. I liked 2& 6 the best. an ordinary evening in their lives can become a memorable one in ours...but ordinary and memorable are only for us..

I would like to pick up the second image from top. In the Sundarbans the fishermen are given permits and enter the forest in small boats (3/4 persons in one dingi). Sometimes a dreaded man-eater ( about 25% or so) will follow one boat along the bank keeping itself invisible in this deep mangrove forest. One Field Director has written that if, by chance the tiger is seen by the fishermen prior to attack, the tiger will slowly move backwards in the opposite direction giving an impression that it has abandoned the pursuit; No , he wrote, the tiger will go deeper and continue to follow the small boat hoping for a favourable opportunity to strike.

Thanks Mridul ,Roopak and Sakpadaji for the appraisals.You are right Saktipadaji , the art of feinting as practiced by dueling swordsmen, to mislead their opponent , is also very much a part of the skills utilized by a predator to bring down its prey in the wild.As also does the prey do the same in order to escape a wily predator.
