Tigers have 5 times hearing ability than humans.The "Back eyes" are an interesting feature of the animal.Tigers really depend on their auditory skills to get to a kill or move away from danger...............Here is a collage of ears of a male tiger from Bandipur.

Dorsal aspect of ears- black colour with large white spot at centre, hairs inside the ears well taken care of.
However, the tiger's much superior ability (and dependence) for judgment of origin of sound by ear alone, in my view, could have possibly been evidenced better if one ear showing white spot on the back and other with normal view would have been included in the series while the camera capturing the face of the tiger or back of the head.
