False Pillow Coral | Mumbai

Pseudosiderastrea sp. in a tide pool at Haji Ali, Mumbai. This is a very hardy species, capable of tolerating harsher conditions than other corals. I have seen them bleaching and recovering over seasons. This colony is in a healthy phase - the colours are normal and the tentacles on the polyps are well-grown.

This one is very interesting and beautiful. I love the patterns and looks nicely painted. Good to know that these are still surviving in the polluted Haji Ali environs. Thanks for sharing.
