This is one of my all time favorite pictures....
where pic quality goes, it is bad....( taken by a childs Kodak aim n shoot type of camera) ...
but the stark landscape of Ladakh, the bald mountains and the confluence of the two legendary rivers has the capacity to transport you to another world......
Yes the stark mountains and the different effects of light and clouds on them make Ladakh a photographers delight.
Good equipment (camera) can make a lot of difference, since the focus is on capturing the various details like colours and textures.
I have posted the shot i took from a similar perspective, please refer to that.
I wish you had a good SLR with you during your trip. I tried to work on the image on the colour and contrast.
I had been to Ladakh earlier when I was using slide and film rolls. Don't have a scanned image, though I had photographed this image as well. Who doesn't? :-) Anyone who goes to Ladakh, is shown this scene.
