Brown fish owl
This is from Ranthambhore. Light was tricky as it was resting on a rock face and the feet portion was lighted by a streak of sunlight. Mrudul could sight it, so we stopped for a record shot.
Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII ie. at 800mm, ISO 800, f8, 1/320, EV:-1/3.

Great record shot. The cactus right above it is a bit distracting, but as you mentioned it's supposed to be a record shot.:)
P.S. shouldnt this be in the Birds section

Abhishek,
Thanks for pointing out. No idea why on a saturday morning, I posted a bird shot in mammals. I moved it after you pointed out.

And you have a gorgeous BFO image from Bandhavgarh, don't you?

One of my favourite species of owl. A beautiful bird. I too feel that the cactii stalks are a bit distracting. Thanks for sharing.

Nice composition. This was a bit far for me, you got it good with 800mm. I agree the cactii are distracting, but couldn't do anything about it. I too have got some images, forgot while posting T17 :). Would post soon. Thanks for sharing.

A nice capture!
Agree on the lighting conditions, but I like the image

Good sighting. Well camouflaged and looks like the crevice is its abode.
Definitely more than a record shot.
