A beetle???
Got this mamoth from my colleague. It was supposed to be lying in his room in the night so brought it to me...
I tried taking few snaps by evening post Office...This particular one came out to be the better one. Its very much attached to the camera as it literally started approaching the camera as soon as I brought it close for Macro photo.
I exactly dont know which species it is but was almost 2inches long and had vice like grip.

Nice catch. Not a very common beetle. It's an imago (young adult) Rhinoceros Beetle. Don't know the exact species... browse the net, you might get it. Where was it found?
These beetles are known for the ritual wrestling contests between rival males. The one that loses gets overturned, and usually dies because it cannot right itself easily.
Did you get any wider shots of this?

Its good to see you have documented it nicely. Do mention the equipment and EXIF details like aperture, ISO, shutter speed..so it can help in critiquing. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.

Prajwal, nice shots. In future, please post each image in a new thread so that we can comment and critique accordingly.
