Brown Fronted Woodpecker
Its pretty amazing to see the diversity of birds in the Himalaya. When we had camped in the small village of Pokhri in Chamoli dist. in 2019, we got ample proof of that. I saw this species of woodpecker for the first time and it was quite amazing. Thankfully, as I heard from the owner of the homestay a few weeks back, the place is still untouched.

Beautiful frame. Lovely eye contact. These are usually fast moving birds, so difficult to photograph. The clean background adds to the composition. Its good to know the palce is still the same (and also reamins that way). Hoping to visit those parts soon. Thanks for sharing.
