Sloth Bear in Satpura
This honey hunter climbed up a tree that was nearly fifty feet tall, in a couple of seconds, from the valley below, while we watched from the mountainside on the opposite side.Nikon 7100+150-600 F/8 ISO 800 1/400s FL300mm April 2017.The animal moved with tremendous speed both up and down the tree and then disappeared. It seemed to be in search of honey. There was hardly any time for eye contact.

Nice sighting. Somehow you managed to get the head in the gap between the trees. I have seen sloth bears climb down the tree within a second. They would be as fast as leopards in getting down the tree and pose a true challenge for the photographer. On another note, among all naturalists, I find Dunbar Brander's observations about sloth bears to be like the gold standard.

Great you could get eye contact from between the trees. Its quite a rare sighting. The vertical composition looks good here. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.
