Good to see an image of Himalayan Bulbul - Pycnonotus leucogenys
Lovely eye contact. The background has come out nicely diffused.
Sharing some descriptions about the bird from Birds of South Asia, The Ripley Guide by Pamela C. Rasmussen and John C. Anderton
An olive-grey bulbul with conspicuous long forward-curling crest, white cheek-patch bordered by black face and throat, and blackish, white-tipped tail; note also bright yellow vent, fine white brow, slightly scaled brown forehead feathers, lightly mottled greyish breast and sides.
Occurs: Resident in NE Afghanistan and Himalayas of N Pakistan east at least to NE Arunachal. Common to abundant, breeding in wooded valleys, bushy hillsides, groves and gardens up to c.2400m (in western range), down to plains in winter, but sometimes upwards where trees are fruiting.
Habits: Conspicuous and boisterous, perching atop bushes; constantly flicks wings and tail. In pairs, parties, occasionally flocks. Often very tame. Takes buds, fruit, seeds and invertebrates, often coming to ground. Breeds Apr-Aug. Nest a shallow cup of fibres and grass lined with rootlets, placed low in tree, bush or building.
