Vulture mating
Photographed this yesterday. Thanks to Apana for guiding us to this place. Apana, Mrudul and myself had dashed off to this place on sunday morning. I had never seen them mating. Will post a detailed sequence in Natural history section later. I was without my tripod and this image is handheld.
Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/200 sec, full frame image.
Cheers,

Great action captured. I know the light was quite bad and the angle was also quite steep. Liked the composition. The rock pattern gives a good feel of the surrounding. I would have liked a bit more space on the top and some more on the left.
It was very unfortunate for me, that my camera hanged and died at the very precise moment the mating started :( so couldnt take any photographs of the mating. Will post the other photographs I took tomorrow.
We were quite lucky to witness this action, thanks to Apana.

Lovely moment captured... the rock makes good diagonals and the framing is nice... The whites are a bit blown on the wings (??)
Isnt this the same place from where subramanya had posted "prayer" image?? the rocks seem familiar.
-
Bibhav, yes it is the same place, Ramnagara.
