Blue Eyed Boy!
Blue-eyed bush frog or Yellow bush frog (Raorchestes luteolus) | Somwarpet, Kodagu, Karnataka
This is one of the more common bush frogs in Karnataka. Its far-reaching, distinctive call can be heard in most forests and agricultural plantations. Here is a link to the audio that I had posted long back- http://www.indiawilds.com/forums/sho...eyed-Bush-Frog.
I was shooting from a distance (vegetation prevented me from going close) and I had set the Av at 2.8 to avoid the clutter of the vegetation, not for super-shallow DoF. This is how it turned out. Ideally, for an image of this type, one would have to pay attention to the background elements and colours to ensure smoothness, and avoid other elements in the same focus plane as the frog. However, since this shot was not really planned, those nits remain.
Canon 500D, Canon 100 mm Macro USM
SS 1/200
Av 2.8
ISO 100
Built-in flash
Cropped
Thanks, C&C welcome.

The shallow depth of field has helped to get the attention on its eyes. The blue lining on the eyes is striking. You captured it nicely in the given conditions. Could you get any other compositions? Thanks for sharing.

Lovely. I would pull back on the lights in post production a little bit more. Thanks for sharing.

Bibhav- Agree with your suggestion. The highlights, especially at the left, look very distracting. I think I have already pulled them back to some extent. Might try a graduated filter towards the left in LightRoom...
Mrudul- The others are record/ID shots (not very interesting to look at :)). Will post them later.
